Juxtapositions and realtionships seem to say more then just about what is being put into comparison. Perspective and flatness, individuals and the group. reflections and shadows, synchronization and lead, excelling and winning whether an actual race or a personal performance.
Or the painting versus the viewers reaction to it. Or, is it not the reaction but the relation (eventual or immediate)? One infusing the other but really separate concepts. Art doesn't seem to reside in the object, but possibly somewhere in the juxtaposition of that relation and reaction.. Not in the brush stroke but in the synergy of brushstrokes.
